5 reasons to hire a personal trainer

When I first embarked on my fitness journey, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Hiring my first personal trainer was very exciting because I knew I was going to be in the hands of someone who knew exactly what I needed to do to reach my health and fitness goals.

People hire personal trainers for many reasons - in fact I know personal trainers who even have their own personal trainers! Here are some reasons you may want to consider hiring one:

You don’t know where to start

I spent the first part of my fitness journey just messing around, not really following a structure or challenging myself. Because of this, my results plateaued. If you’re new to the gym or exercising, the equipment and machines can be really intimidating and often people won’t touch them because they don’t know how to use them. Your personal trainer will show you how to use equipment safely and correctly.

You need accountability

I get it. Sometimes it’s hard to wake up early and hit the gym when it’s dark and cold outside. Nothing keeps you accountable knowing that you’ve paid and booked in a personal trainer who will be waiting for you. Not to mention, every woman deserves to have someone who gives them their full attention and is their biggest health and fitness cheerleader. Even if you’re not ready to invest in a personal trainer just yet, having a gym buddy can make all the difference.

You’re not seeing results

The fitness world can be so confusing with a lot of misleading information out there. Hiring a professional who can create a personalised program for you can help. They will be able to identify why you haven’t been achieving results and what steps you need to take to reach your goals.

You need to be challenged

When you’re exercising on your own, it’s very easy to stay in your comfort zone. Getting fitter comes from putting our body in a situation where it is FORCED to get fitter and stronger, and in order to do that, we need to be challenged. A lot of people who exercise, aren’t exercising effectively. You want your exercise routine to stimulate a physiological change, instead of you just burning up calories to lose weight.

You want to invest in yourself and your health

Your health is an investment, not an expense. Most personal trainers are high vibe people who can have a positive impact on your life. Nothing beats investing time with someone who makes you feel (and look) good whilst challenging you to be a better version of yourself.
